"Eat them ?, Claire . . that's disgusting" ( Ha !! )--( and all that's revealed in that scene ) That was a very ...interesting scene, to say the least, and I think it will have the most ramifications of any of the plotlines. Suresh's wonder drugs at work, or robot shape-changing Sylar/Bad Peter/??? I didn't watch the extras, but my guess of her power was way off. This definitely makes sense, and it's not what I expected. I think what threw me most was Nathan's plotline. Stupidly, ever since season 2 ended, I've assumed he was dead. When I watched the DVD I did some screengrabs to identify his assailant. I'm sure they were going for the same vibe as Sylar before he was revealed, with the baseball cap. I'll be most curious to see how Nathan's religious fervor develops - that was a majorly interesting new dynamic to look at, and depending on where they go with it, it could make for a much different season than I expected. Invisible Malcom McDowell was just the icing on the cake, also.

Ya' ever check "Television Without Pity"'s forums ? There's such a wide range of reactions ( and many of them completely ponderous ) . . . someone over there referred to Sylar merely "touching the brain" of his latest prize, but if one studies the scene Claire goes beyond the twitching & gasping while being probed and reacts as we hear something being "removed". ( shudder ) Will they ever tell us more ? Will it be another 2 years till we're shown what he actually does ? It's also amazing how many people at TVWoP get all worked up about unexplained things like they've never seen how the show doles out its reveals ! Matter-a-fact, this year we didn't rejoin 4 months later ! We continued the action at the point last year got interrupted. So Tracy, who's obviously been with the Governor awhile, can't simply be Nikki with her brain reset. Also, fans wondering if Caitlin has been abandoned in "the virus future" where Peter took her seem to forget that Season 2 was rudely cut off. This Link provides some fascinating perspectives into what would've come. But I think it's all for the best. If you didn't check the extras, you wouldn't have seen the beginnings of the "virus got released" story . . . where Nathan hasn't even been shot a little !! They had to rejigger things, and I think the reality of the true-life timeline where Season 2 is refigured is now being reflected in the "Future-Peter messes up time" story. Wait . . . I had that in mind more resoundingly clearer ! I'll get back to it . . to be continued . . . .

I'll check out that link before too long.
As far as the Sylar part goes, when he was probing into Claire's brain, it reminded me of the watch repairman at work - he looks around, and when he finally sees the little "differences" of someone's brain, he has a flash of insight and figures out how that power works. I don't know if that's really what's happening or not, but that's the vibe I got. He apparently doesn't have to scarf down someone's brain, anyway (but what happened to all the missing brains in season 1?)
And yeah, I'd forgotten that Tracy presumably couldn't be Nikki because of the time issue. At the time I watched the show, it slipped my mind, and I just assumed it was Nikki, somehow with another latent power.

Nah, if you haven't cut yourself sufficient slack yet, allow me. With an hour-long "countdown special", followed by 2 full fast-pace & packed episodes . . there was much to process !! Too much !!! I'm still workin' on it myself, but we best catch up soon as another ep is looming ! ;D

Yep, just about time for the next one.
It's funny, though, because I remember the scene where she must have made the claim. I was probably starting to type up some thoughts about the episode or something, because I *know* I was in the room at the time.

You don't specify, but I take it you know that you're describing the very last scene, yes ? Big thunderous "duht-duht- duhn !" music with a pull-in on Sylar. Tune in next week. . or . . . hey, tomorrow !! (Tonight when you've read this )

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of.
We pretty much need to recast this board as "Heroes discussion (also some MST fangirls)", I think. ;D

That was another great episode! I like Sylar and Noah's teamup - Noah is back to his old corporation ways, and Sylar is great as an agent. His part in the preview for next week's episode made me laugh out loud.
I like the way Matt's story is heading. Seeing his life revealed in paintings was a great moment, and I'm really curious where it was going right at the end.
I also thought Hiro and Ando had some great scenes. Ando in particular made me laugh, and I loved the scenes in the movie theater.
Finally, Niki's story is at least looking like it might be worthwhile. She's always been my least-favorite main character, but the scenes hinting at her connection with Tracy Strauss were really interesting. I can't wait to see more of Dr. Zimmerman.

I liked this episode a ton. Every time they pull out a plot that mostly falls in the future or past, it seems like it's one of my favorite episodes. I liked how this one turned some characters on their head, particularly Sylar.
I loved the B-movie feel of Future Suresh's conversation with Peter, it was straight out of an old monster movie. And I admit that I do enjoy seeing some of the other cliches as well, in how they portray the "evil" future characters and such. This really is pulp entertainment in many ways, but it's hugely entertaining.

. . . and here I am to agree. I already wondered why neither of us was here for last week's fine offering, but indeed !, "I Am Become Death" was a continual brain-popper of "Oh no they didn't !"
Altho' I wondered why Hiro couldn't simply "power" his way out of Level 2. Did they make some sort of "power-suppression" clarity awhile back ? Guess it would've applied to all those in Level 5 as well, huh ?

Although, the time I specifically wondered about it during the episode was right before the Haitian stepped into the room. I don't know if he was supposed to be in range before that, or if there was some other reason.

I actually time travelled two hours into the future and I'm watching it now. Hmm, this would suggest that you may have already encountered a future version of Phantom Engineer who hesitates to share his power, thereby aiding your mission. Oh ! oh ! . . . One clue will tell us for sure ! Is Queen Shady trying to kill any particular version of you ?

Holy crap. This show sets some fantastic things up, but the ending tops everything. It seems like every week I'm just laughing in pure enjoyment at what they're setting up. What a great season.

After thinking it over a bit more, here are my thoughts on the story elements of this episode. I'm pretty shocked by Peter's actions this time around - I knew he'd have something of Sylar's power, but hurting his mom to get information? That's pretty low, even if she is villainous. I'm not quite sure I believe Claire as going around after "villains" on her own, but I liked Vortex Guy. It would probably be hard to incorporate him into the show (he could just be too powerful), but at least he seemed like a nice guy. I also liked the moments where Noah attempted to use him against Sylar. Vortex Guy had a good moment, where he'd rather destroy himself than be used as a tool for murder.
I also still think Suresh's story is hilarious. He's even more straight out of a B-movie, "Doctor Arachnia" or something. I like the plot synopsis that he "puts Maya in a bad situation;" that's probably the understatement of the week. Also, I don't even want to know where the webbing comes from.
I liked the moments with Hiro, Ando, and Adam. Some pretty funny stuff going on as they try to get information from Adam, and it's great to see him back in action again. As above, it is pretty fast and unconvincing for Hiro to kill Ando as a test. As I've said before, that's my most distinct issue with the season - some of the decisions and motivations for the characters are abbreviated so much that they're not too convincing. Better to have things happening too fast than too slow, though.
Nathan's plot line is once again very interesting, and he continues to be one of my favorite characters. I loved the moment where he found out his powers were artificially-induced. We're finally figuring out more about his "mission from God" and visitations from Linderman. I loved the ending to the show - all of a sudden Linderman makes sense. I continued to make my biggest mistake for the show when I assumed that Maury was out of the picture after last season. Someday I'll learn what assuming does to you and me, especially for a show like this. Anyway, I can't wait to see where the elder Parkman and Petrelli go with this "army" they're creating.

Time: first commercial break
Feeling: "holy crap!"
Edit: That goes double for the ending.

Time: first commercial break Feeling: "holy crap!" Edit: That goes double for the ending. Indeed ! I've totally gotten into the approach of DVR'ing it so I can skip them ads ( I've said this like 4 times now, huh ? ), but I came here before I'd watched . . . hit "25 Most Recent Posts" and went "No-0-oo-0 !" as your post popped up. Then I went "Ahh . . thank God he wasn't specific . . smart boy, no wonder he's a pal ! " I'm too tired to write much right now, but I loved it. We know by now that I'm not a cynical fan of much, and I don't know why I keep checking TWoP . . . they're such poopie-pusses over there ! Hiro was a hoot !! It got to be like "Whack-a-Mole" !! Ha . . . watching himself get hit as the African Issac strolls around bonking Hiros. Everything else ? _____ I'm still too stunned, man !
