Amazon's got a peek at the contents !! Is this news only to me ? The Crow figure is lookin' a bit "tiny-eyed", but I'm lovin' the DVD covers and cards showing Tom & Crow fleeing various evils !!! ;D

LOL, nope you're not the first to see it. Robyn and I got the grand reveal at Comic-Con. In fact, I think every major board and news source has covered it now! I know Satellite News definitely showed it. But there's no shame in being a bit late to the party every once in a while! I can't wait for this box set to come out! Two of the episodes I've never seen before (First Spaceship on Venus and Laserblast), and I love the Crow figurine, small eyes and all!

The final host segment is surprisingly sad, emotional, but somehow uplifting. Well said ! I guess that poignancy comes across even if one isn't aware of the episodes place in MSTory, or even if you didn't watch it's first broadcast. Once "Laserblast" has concluded and you emerged from a such a great riffage, you were thrust back into some "oh yeah . . . they're wrapping up the series here !! . . . it's about to disappear from Comedy Central and go off into the ether !" One certainly didn't know at the time that it would resurface on Sci-Fi and eventually present another "good-bye" segment with Diabolik. Between Dr. Clayton Space-Baby & color-coded balls of frolicking energy, it was a near-perfect farewell . . . . till they loused that all up by coming back again !! . . . wait . . .

Here's a question.
What is Crow looking at that could cause THAT look on his face?
Something, big, scary, yet still far away?

Actually, it looks like Crow is slowly coming to the horrible realization that he has NO LEGS AUUUUUUUGH OHGOD OHGOD THE HUMANITY WHHHHYyyyyyyy... ;D Anyway, am I the only one who looks at that big tin box for the 20th Anniversary set and immediately hears the "monolith theme" from 2001: A Space Odyssey? Ya know - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... I love love luh-luh-luh-luh-love the DVD covers/lobby cards, they look so cool! I'm extremely tempted to get the set just for them...I don't really care about the episodes themselves, I can always watch 'em on YouTube - uh, I mean through totally legal means. True story - first time I met Joel, I mentioned how I had very recently become a fan through episodes I had found on YouTube, and he was like, "Oh that's cool, did you get any DVDs?" and I was like, "Oh yeah, of course!" but I was lying I didn't have a single DVD at that point. XD YOU GUYS, I LIED TO JOEL. TO HIS FACE. I felt kinda guilty so after that I actually did get some DVDs, but it's kinda pointless 'cause I always end up watching them on YouTube even if I already have the DVD. XD But it's the principle of the thing, right? Anyway, come to think of it, my birthday is shortly after the set comes out in October, so maybe I'll get it then as a gift to myself. It just seems like a lot of money - but then, I feel like anything over $20 is highway robbery.

XD But it's the principle of the thing, right ? That's quite a revelation there. But obviously your "weird-ass way of watching the bulk of your episodes" hasn't detracted from your full-fledged fandom. But I know in my bones that you'd get that much more out of watching them in more then 10 minute segments at a time, not to mention the quality & comfort factors ! To watch in an uninterrupted flow . . . and your TV screen would have to be just a bit bigger then a YouTube window ! ( & again I suggest, in decent, stable quality !! ) I guess these considerations aren't important to you tho' . . . and if that's true, it helps me see how you could up & say something like "I don't really care about the episodes themselves" I hope I don't sound snide or judgemental in my "aghastment" . . . but to me it's like you've just said "I see no need for a car . . . I got's a skateboard !!" . . or perhaps a pair of skates leftover from Ice Fu ?

Lol, Robyn lied to Joel. You might as well jump off a cliff now, as there's no reason for you to live! If anything though, I have to commend you for your nerves of steel on that one. Had I been in that position, looking into those blue eyes that could see through to my soul, I would have broken down and begged for his forgiveness! As far as I'm concerned, MST has always been in this weird ambiguous place as far as circulating episodes goes. Jim Mallon would be well within his rights to see that all the episodes on YouTube are taken down, and he could sue the crap out of anyone who sells non-official copies. But amazingly, he doesn't. Don't know why, but until he decides to call a jihad on YouTube episodes, they're up for grabs. So yeah, Robyn's YouTube use doesn't bother me. Heck, if it hadn't been for the episodes there, she likely wouldn't be the MSTie she is today! As for myself, I prefer pristine copies of episodes on DVD that I can watch on my TV. I just can't sit and watch a movie on a computer screen. It's too uncomfortable. I'm also not as money conscious as Robyn either, lol! If I can put cash in Joel's "DVD g-string", so to speak, I'm all over it! XD Apparently Deep Discount has the cheapest pr-order price for it now at $40 (with free shipping), so that's not too bad. I had pre-ordred it on Amazon for $45, so I might consider canceling that one and save five bucks. There's no way I'd pay the $70 list price. That's ludicrous. If they were offering half a season at that price, then we could talk. So if $20 is highway robbery, $40 is okay. I guess the equivalent would be a mugging in a dark alley, with no injuries. So yeah, not that bad right? XD

You have to understand, it's not like I have any off-line Mstie friends to watch these with - it's just me and my low expectations. On YouTube, I enjoy reading the comments for each segment, because it gives me the feeling that I'm sharing in the experience with a gazillon other people, and that's nice. Sure, usually people just parrot their favorite lines, but sometimes somebody brings up some interesting info, or a flame war breaks out (always entertaining), or somebody proclaims their love for Joel or Mike or whatever, and it's just fun. I want to say it makes me feel less lonely, but that's kind of pathetic. XD Why am I looking for social interaction on YOUTUBE, of all places? (Though I have to say that MST3K videos have the least amount of rock-stupid user comments compared to the rest of YouTube.) I kinda see the DVDs as something of a special treat, for when I actually get to interact with other fans - like when I met Anchan at SuperCon, I brought along my meager MST3K collection and we ended up watching my I Accuse My Parents DVD. So yeah, I dunno, that's just my mindset. The only thing I worry about is that I'm not supporting the Brains if I just watch YouTube videos all the time, so that's why I occasionally shell out a few bucks for a DVD, or a RiffTrax, or a Cinematic Titanic. I don't want anyone to to have to go back to working at America's Funniest Home Videos, fer chrissake. EDIT: O hai, Queenie. XD As usual, I took too long to write my reply and didn't even see you there. NOTE TO SELF: LEARN TO TYPE, 'TARD. But yeah, what she said. If I can put cash in Joel's "DVD g-string", so to speak, I'm all over it! XD Well damn, when you put it like that... *eyes glaze over* Huhhuhhuhhuh... ;D Deep Discount is awesome, that's where I got a lot of my MST3K DVDs. I guess I could stand a little dark alley mugging on Joel's behalf. XP

Well, $40 is at least approaching a reasonable price. Maybe I will eventually get this after all.

Hi-oh! Get the kids out of the forum! Heh-heh . . . Hey Uncle Nutsy ! , upon noticing that you modified your "Avatar comment" to "Say....that's a nice toothbrush", I suddenly noticed how close your T-1000 is to rubbing that waggy finger across his own damn gums there ! I don't have 2 1/2 free hours just now to re-work a .gif with a gob of toothpaste on that finger, and neither do you . . so let's just picture it . . . together ! C'mon . . . watch the finger . . . back n' forth . . . back n' forth The rest of the world slips away . . . all you see is the fluoride finger . . . gently wafting . . . back n' forth . . . Oh crap !, I'm hypmotized !!
