Yeah . . . I can get quite effusive when something wins my heart & mind equally. ( it’s fun ) But WALL⋅Ⓔ is ⊱ The Best Thing Ever ⊰ . . . there ! and I may say it again. You’d think we’d be out of new & entertaining ways to show what shape the world’s in / to show what shape we’re in ! / and to weave it thru new perils, adventures, and heartwarming characters with emotional arcs. But every frame of this was full of new hysterical, sobering ideas and emotional moments . . . usually at the same time. Initially, I didn’t want the opening segment which deals with how WALL⋅Ⓔ has been living in his sad, solo world for 700 years to end. So much info is given in quick cuts that seemed effortless to absorb . . . but this continues right on thru to the end, in innovative reveals that never flag. What humans have become after 700 years of laying in pampered cocoons that seem to be engaged with the world . . . . how they’re agog when something snaps them away from their screens and they see their actual surroundings . . . Lemme’ stop there. I’m better at an emotional burst of an overview, not so much the synopsis. I’m sure some jaundiced folks will begin to point things out that they didn’t like, but I think all the most inspired or resonant film & music comes from everything before it, and builds on our collective experiences. And right now, WALL⋅Ⓔ is tops ! best thing ever, I’d say.

OMG!! I was just gonna make a WALL-E thread...I saw it with my mom over the weekend and it was so awesome! We're both huge fans of Pixar. ^__^ WALL-E is the sweetest little robot...from the way he rocks himself to sleep on the shelf at night to all the things he does to impress EVE. So much fun to watch him! ;o; But one of my favorite scenes is when the Axiom's captain goes to his computer and says "Define 'Earth.'" And it comes up with so much...it's like, how do you define Earth? And then he's staying up all night inquiring about the sea and the plants and all this stuff the people on this ship have never seen...it just made me smile. I must say that WALL-E is probably the most optimistic, uplifting post-apocalyptic-type movie ever made. XD It gives the impression that we are not always incapable of fixing what goes wrong.

Like the 2nd message from the president of "Buy n' Large", the one for the Auto-Pilot only. "Don't come back . . . it didn't go so well" I love how the de-evolution of humans is established by the pictures of the captains thru the ages. ( and later by a direct computer display . . . . "you boneless blobs !" ) But, in a film with so much heart, I was completely wiped-out when EVE saw the playback of everything WALL⋅Ⓔ did to protect her when she was in "shut-down \ alert mode". For someone who's had a couple relationships "go wrong" while feeling that all one's efforts weren't appreiciated, it was truly an emotional bomb ! And it was a "new" twist on the old "character B slowly realizes how much character A means to them" I wish I was still watching it !!☉ ◡☉

Wow Here I thought I was just being my inspired carried-way self, but over at Rotten Tomatoes, where it's gotten a 96% approval, many many reviewers are raving on the "Best Movie Ever Made" side of things. Cool ! I believe there's often something that is "exactly what we need at this point in our evolution", and right now, this is it !

God, I love Pixar. Saw WALL-E on Monday, and it was sooo adorable! His desperate desire to hold EVE's hand that entire movie made my heart ache. I don't think I've ever seen a more adorable love story. i also loved the lack of dialogue. Oh sure, there was some, but I'm glad they didn't have the robots going into these deep discussions about stuff.
I remember when I first saw the trailer for Disney's Dinosaur waaay back when, and I thought it was gonna be so cool to see a movie where nobody talked, cause that's what the trailer made it look like. Then they made the dinosaurs talk, which kinda wrecked the realism for me. Yeah, I know realism and Disney don't exactly go hand it hand, but it would have been much more creative to me.
So I'm so glad WALL-E and EVE barely talked. So much emotion and expression was conveyed when they simply said each other's names...they didn't need anything else.
I also loved how in 700 years everyone is hopelessly obese due to physical inactivity. I am curious as to how babies were still being produced though. Oh, and how bluebirds and turtles were able to come back from extinction (as shown by the end credits). But I'm nitpicking now. Once again, Disney has hit a home run!

I also loved the lack of dialogue. Oh sure, there was some, but I'm glad they didn't have the robots going into these deep discussions about stuff. Unlike in so many anime where they have those cyborgs doing some lame internal monologue about humanity and stuff...I hate that. <__< Coming from a culture that's reputed to rely highly on context and what is implied, Japanese animation can be pretty damn talky sometimes! XD; WALL-E and EVE conveyed so much in so few words. One of the saddest parts was (if I remember it correctly!) when WALL-E, busted and shaking, hands EVE the plant and says "Di...Directive..." T___T Ahahaha...Dinosaur! Now there's one of those random Disney movies that nobody remembers...like Fox and the Hound, Oliver and Company, Three Caballeros... But yeah, the realistic style and backgrounds in Dinosaur were pretty crazy.

I prob'ly should'a put "Spoilers !!" up top for those who ain't seen it yet, but since we're already discussing it openly . . . . Did anyone else initially figure , from the 1st pan over the landscape into the city, that we were looking at skyscrapers that had gone all mossy or vine-covered ? Only to realize, bit-by-bit, that we were looking at 700 years of cubing and stacking . . and he'd built all these !?!Makes it even "scarier" that in > this sequence, he's starting the foundation for yet another !
