[See, I was nice and invited the boys to come play!] In response to a little question by BS... - all five of the fangirlisms, not just Mike and Trace - I don't believe I've seen the list ! You will now. Over at theOtaku, there was this popular, meme-ish thing to do for a while that was taking one's "anime harem" and writing a little thing for each person as to why you loved them . One night, me and my friend were musing about when we decided to do the same thing, but with the "RL" list. It didn't really catch on, but oh well, it was fun. XD
Here is the original post, complete with nifty pictures. Herein lies my challenge to you: Report on your real-life fanisms in less than one paragraph each and share it with the class. I mean, uh, forum.
I'll lead by example and do a wonderful copy-paste. *brick'd* My lead-off: Without further ado, here's Kat's harem of geeks, proving she has bizarre taste in men:
Matthew Broderick - The standard geek. Kind of a throwback to my childhood, I guess. XD I had this massive crush on him way back when the gawd-awful "Inspector Gadget" movie came out. I was obsessed and totally in love. Then I learned he could sing as Leo Bloom in "The Producers". My crush intensified. Then I finally saw him in "Ferris Beuler's Day Off", and wooooah. Yeah. Yeah.
Alton Brown - The chef geek. I was channel surfing one day and came across "Good Eats" on the Food Network. Something struck me about him. I don't know what it was. I thought he was dorky but I kept on watching and watching until I finally came to the conclusion that I think he's adorkable. XD And I got a GE boxset for Christmas YAY!
David Tennant - The Scottish geek. After lots of pestering from TC, I succumbed and watched an episode of "Doctor Who" that was playing. I had missed the first ten minutes, but holy God. This was love at first sight. He's such a goofball! He also breaks all the facial hair rules I have for guys - he has sideburns and I say no beards. But woah, he's an attractive piece of manmeat when he has a beard. *_*
Michael J. Nelson - The manly geek. I love Mike. He is what he is - tall, roast-faced manly man from right here in St. Charles, IL. He's funny, he's humble, he's a fantastic writer, and he's...uh, he's tall. XD He has an odd charm to him that I fell in love with the moment he spun the clipboard and looked at the camera. Reading "Mind Over Matters" gave me more insight on his life, and the stories he tells make me smile even more. There aren't many Mike fangirls, but I'm damn well proud to be one of them.
Trace Beaulieu - The ninja geek. There is a reason behind that title. See, Trace is a tricky man. He sneaks around and stabs you, making you go "oh I love him wait what?!" He does this until you're weakened enough and makes his final pounce, causing you to succumb and love him. Also, having met him, I can attest that he is one of the nicest people ever. Very warm and friendly and totally unobjectionable. He's such a sweetie!
Honorable Mentions: - Wayne Brady [from "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Oh come on, he's a cutie] - Johnny Depp - Bill Corbett [OKAY OKAY SHUT YOUR FACE HE WAS PRETTY DAMN CUTE BACK THEN also I have an odd crush on him as Observer...] - Kevin Murphy [it's the voice I love...though Kevin seems like the kinda guy I wouldn't mind hugging] - Joel Hodgson [two words: needz goatee. And not those sissy hairs Robyn claims as a beard. XP] - Patrick Bransteg [OH COME ONNNNN HE'S LIKE GAWKY CUTE] - Peter Tork
Does this answer your question, BS? :D

Pretty solid list Kat! Though I am going to have to pick on you for this: I am, however, not mature, and would like to note that I have damn good choices in men because all of them - all five of the fangirlisms, not just Mike and Trace - still got some good hair goin' on. Hahaha. Ha. Haha. If you're classifying lack of balding as the standard for good hair, I hate to break it to you - Alton Brown is totally balding. In fact, I would argue that his hair loss is farther along that Joel's. XD

In fact, I would argue that his hair loss is farther along that Joel's. XD Have you seen those Welch's grape juice commercials? He pulled an Adam Savage and like, grew his hair out. XD (I'm wondering if this is a trend amongst men in their forties...) Anyway, Alton's hair is thin to begin with, but I dunno if the hairline recession is as bad as Joel's. And even if it is, he's kept the poof, whereas also poor Yorick, Joel lost his. I'm sorry, I just really wanted to quote Hamlet for some reason.

MY TURN, MY TURN. (WITH PICS!) These are in no particular order: Joel Hodgson:I think what attracts me most to this sleepy-eyed guy is his quiet wit and genuine sweetness. Srsly, he is just irresistible! I tend to be drawn to the typical nice guy, so Joel certainly fits the bill. I realize that I'm really speaking about Joel Robinson, but I'm only assuming that his real life persona is somewhat similar to his on-screen character. Jeff Goldblum:Jeff entrances me with his dark features, lankiness and his sarcastic sense of humor. He usually plays the role of the smart, quirky guy in his movies and the programs he's been on. I've seen several of his appearances on Conan O'Brien's show, and they've just made me all like "GAHH, I WANT TO MEET HIM SO BAD." He's getting on a bit in years now, but I still love 'em. <3 Henry Ian Cusick:Mmm, he plays the lovely, time-traveling Desmond on Lost. His kind of wild good looks and Scottish accent make him irresistible. He also seems to be really sweet, which is a must. I won't go falling head-over-heels for some jerkface. Honorary Mention:- David Wenham (Attribute this one to my LotR fangirling as well. He plays the lovely Faramir. <3) - Karl Urban (Yup, another LotR guy. He's definitely not an example of typical male attractiveness, and I think this is what makes me go so crazy over him. ) - Josh Holloway (Plays Sawyer in Lost. Absolutley gorgeous, but comes off as a total jerk in every interview I've seen with him.)

Alton Brown - The chef geek. I was channel surfing one day and came across "Good Eats" on the Food Network. Alton Brown is the man! He's definitely the coolest person on the Food Network now. His show has improved my cooking skills. That is, from "Really Sucks" to "Just Horrible". ;D

lolll uh my list is pretty strange IN THE MEN'S CORNER: Stephen Fry He's so pink and moist and fluffy and wonderful. Not to mention very smart and funny and modest. Daniel is one lucky, lucky, LUCKY man (then again, so is Stephen, since apparently Daniel cooks like a god. But what does he look liiiike) Julian Barratt So I watched Nathan Barley and suddenly I realised that oh my god Dan Ashcroft is hot. I started watching some of Julian's stand-up stuff and BAM! I was sold. Chris Morris Because he's a real life troll in the best possible way (messing with John McCririck and pissing him off? Haha oh god marry me now Chris). One of the best satirists imo. And he looks DAMN good (he has pretty lips, hee) Charlie Brooker Oh Charlie, you don't have a face like a paedophile walrus, you silly. What's really attractive about him is his intelligence, sense of humour and writing skills, but I actually think he's easier on the eye than most Hollywood 'hotties'. I'm biased tho. IN THE GIRL'S CORNERRRR Eleanor Friedberger (from The Fiery Furnaces) I've had a big crush on her since I was about TWELVE haha. I was looking through my sister's iPod and I thought 'huh this song sounds interesting' and I looked at the album art and I was just like 'omg PRETTY.' She has such a great voice, and she's so beautiful, I think. Sigh~ Bjork So she's a weirdo. So what? She's an awesome weirdo with a great voice and she's totally adorable. <3 I gotta say I prefer The Sugarcubes to her solo stuff, though. Catherine Ringer (from Les Rita Mitsouko) Such a great singer, and RIDICULOUSLY gorgeous. Serge Gainsbourg called her disgusting (cause she was in porno before she got into music) on French TV and she was just like 'lolol dirty old man'. And she does music videos wearing no pants. Gahhh <333 ^ (and an honourable mention for her husband and fellow band member Fred Chichin (RIP). Man was he good-looking.. bahh bloody pretty French people ;_; ) EDIT: To even up the boys/girls side (and cause I forgot durr) Elisabeth Esselink Ahhhh I love her music. And her. So cute and Dutch ajdkjskjdksjd. <3 That's all I got. FFFFF pansexuality is awesome. I get crushes and pashes on a ridiculous amound of celebs and people. 9_9 MORE PEOPLE TO BE AWKWARD AND BLUSHY AROUND HOORAY

I have such a soft spot for Johnny Depp, haaa~. In Chocolat? TOTALLY HOT. But what sealed the deal for me was Fear & Loathing (pretty much my favourite film + book anyway, but his performance was so so good. Plus something about twitchy balding drug-using journalists is attractive to me) Oh noooooo a wild new celebrity crush appeared! Ed Droste from Grizzly Bear (aaaaa I'm such a hipster) D'awww jeeeeeez. I watched some videos and exploded with love. Not only does he look like a cross between Adrien Brody (shyeeeah <3) and my friend Matt (who's totally adorable), but he has the voice of a goddamn angel. And he's so sweet. And so gay.

OKAY, MY LIST: JOEL HODGSON & MIKE NELSON - What hasn't been said about these guys? CARTER OOSTERHOUSE - (HGTV home shows) He's married. Who cares? He's just GORGEOUS!!! DAVID BROMSTAD - (HGTV home shows) He's gay. Who cares? He's SOOOOOO boyishly cute (kinda weird face, but cute) & sexy and has a delicious athletic build. YUM! ZAK BAGANS - ( Ghost Adventures) Who woulda thunk I'd be attracted to a loud, bombastic, muscle-headed blowhard? But, he's a fun, adorkable, sweet & sexy loud, bombastic, muscle-headed blowhard. Most of his macho bombast is aimed at provoking ghosts & he seems like a fun guy, otherwise. It's also funny to see Capt. Blowhard get scared by spooks after his "Capt. Blowhard" routine. When he gets frighted by dolls, heights & snakes, he's so adorable, you just wanna snuggle him. He's gotta fantastic physique. Don't get any bigger than you are, Zackie-boy, the "Huge Body-Builder" look is freakish & stupid. He's my favorite Ghost hunting studmuffin. ;D TRAVIS FIMMEL - A guy who was famous for five minutes, posed in Calvin Klein ads & stared in a short-lived Tarzan TV series. Back then, HE WAS BEAUTIFUL: The perfect Bishie....with luscious flowing blond tresses & the prettiest face. OOOOHHH.....THAT BODY! NICK RHODES: The androgynous prettyboy keyboardist of Duran Duran. Had a thing for him since childhood. JOHN McINDOE & JOHN PHILLPOTT: (IQ the Grasshopper & Courage the Ladybug) Yeah, I know...two obscure guys who played goofy characters from the 1970s Sid & Marty Krofft kid show, The Bugaloos. But c'mon! They're British! They're Bishiefied! They're Fairy-like Bug things! They're cute boys (well, back then, mind you)! I added pics of them out of costume here if you're put off by goofy bug gettup (which were really bug-themed Mod/hippie outfits with wings & antennae. They were basically fairies rather than 'funny animal sports mascots'.), plus they're nice looking young men in these pics. ;D GEORGE HARRISON: Back in his Beatle days, provided he doesn't have facial hair (a moustache is fine but nothing more). A very good singer & songwriter & a cool person. He'll be greatly missed. RANDOLPH MANTOOTH: As John Gage in the old 1970s show EMERGENCY! which was about Firefighter-Paramedics. A medical drama with some comedic elements. John Gage was quite a character. Here they are, in order: As you can see, I have a rather varied, eclectic, weird, colorful taste in men, regardless of time period.

My update version of this saki-senpai.deviantart.com/art/My-Top-10-Hottest-Live-A-Guys-206074023Keep this mind, this list is no particular order. 1. Johnny Depp. I love him since "What Eating Gilbert Grape?" and "Benny & Joon". I love him even more in "Edward Scissorhands", "Sleepy Hollow" and "Ed Wood" (my favorite movie from the Depp/Burton combo). You can tell that I like 1990s Depp 2. Robert Downey Jr. I love him in "Chaplin" (so good, I cried and watch Charlie Chaplin movies) and I love him ever more in "Sherlock Holmes", "Iron Man" and "Tropic Thunder". 3. Anthony Bourdain. Another bad boy, this time in the foodie world. Anyone who makes a orgasm face while eating Pho (the noodle soup of my people) is good in my book. Even though he swears, drinks and smokes, he knows how to make a damn well dish and writes a book about it. 4. Craig Ferguson. I love a Scottish guy who loves to play with puppets, including ones with cute bunnies. 5. Mike Nelson and Joel Hodgson: Do I say more? 7. Matt Smith: While the current Hodgson looks like a adorkable old professor, Smith looks like a adorkable young professor. Known as the "11th Doctor" from Doctor Who. Not as hot as David Tennant, but so adorkable. 8. Doug Walker: In case you don't know him, he is a internet commentator of pop culture. Also known as "Nostalgia Critic". 9. Tom Felton. He plays a perfect douchebag, but you know outside of the movies, he's a real sweetheart. 10. Jon Stewart. Hello? He's smart and funny. And looks damn sexy in a suit! Since I like to go one step beyond 11. Woody Allen. I don't care about the fact he's married his non-exclusive girlfriend's adopted daughter from another marriage. He's awesome! He's funny, smart and a damn good director!
